Year 6 2025 - 2026

Miss Davies-Griffith

Welcome to Year 6!

Attached is an overview of learning for this half term in Year 6.

Please note, PE lessons will be on a Tuesday and Friday this half term. For our PE lessons, the children will need to wear their PE kits (red hoodie/jumper, red T-shirt, black leggings or tracksuit bottoms, and pumps or trainers). Please could you ensure that all uniform is labelled. For health and safety reasons, earrings must be removed during PE lessons.

Reading regularly at home remains incredibly important - it helps children to develop fluency, prosody and strengthens their comprehension skills.

Homework is assigned on Atom Prime every Friday and is due in the following Wednesday. Please make sure that your child’s account is activated and that they are completing their weekly assignments. You can access Atom Prime here

Your child also has access to set programmes on Literacy Gold to support their spelling, comprehension and reading. Please make sure that your child’s accounts are activated and that they are completing their weekly assignments. You can access Literacy Gold here. (Please make sure you are logging in on the right hand side: Staff and Pupils)

We’re also continuing to use Times Tables Rock Stars (TTRockstars) to support maths fluency. Regular practice at home is encouraged to ensure that children further develop their recall of key multiplication and division facts.

Spellings
As well as working on spellings in class, your child has access to Literacy Gold Spelling Tutor programme. Below I have put links to statutory spelling lists. Please click on the links to access these. Please help your child to consolidate their knowledge of these as they will be assessed on words throughout their time in primary school in their SATs.
